This was devastating news for us, we were very much looking forward to XD4 but the licensing change is too hard to sell to management. The 2 for 1 exchange they are temporarily offering may work for some folks but it simply will not work for me. I have 3000 licenses and nearly 10,000 users a month. I have a few users who I would like to move to VDI but for about 70% of my staff, Server Based Computing applications or desktops work just fine.

This sours what was otherwise a fantastic release.

I budgeted VDI for CCU, I know of NO ONE who's budget is getting increased these days. I just can't sell this to my boss....no way.

Nick,

I completely agree. What happens in companies with shift workers? I don't agree with 24/7 desktop usage as a reason for named user licenses. I see the license change as the only down side to the XD 4 annoucement.
